Opgegroeid in een Marron-gezin, leerde Gordon al vroeg dat het opbouwen van communities niet alleen een keuze is, maar van levensbelang. Zijn cultuur heeft in hem het diepe belang ingeprent van het koesteren en in stand houden van gemeenschappen. Als woordvoerder binnen de Marron-gemeenschap voelt Gordon zich bevoorrecht om zijn rijke erfgoed en waarden met de rest van de wereld te delen.

Als middelste kind in zijn gezin werd Gordon de natuurlijke verbinding tussen generaties binnen zijn familie. Het wonen in een achterstandswijk en tegelijkertijd naar school gaan in de buitenwijken in Nederland bracht hem in contact met een veelheid aan culturele achtergronden, wat hem zichzelf razendsnel liet aanpassen en in staat stelde te communiceren over diverse achtergronden.

Gordons reis mondde uit in een professionele carrière, waarbij hij de rol aannam van een communitymanager, die de verbinding legt tussen het management of besturen en werknemers of klanten. In de loop der jaren heeft hij zijn vaardigheden verfijnd in het in lijn brengen van diverse groepen mensen en het bevorderen van eenheid temidden van verschillen.

Nu richt hij zijn expertise gericht diversiteit en inclusie binnen en tussen communities. Via zijn bedrijf werkt hij samen met community-experts om organisaties en bedrijven te adviseren over omarmen en versterken van hun communities. Gordon’s passie ligt erin zijn kennis over dynamiek binnen communities voortdurend uit te breiden en deze te delen.

Living in a deprived neighborhood while attending school in the suburbs in the Netherlands exposed him to a multitude of cultural languages, teaching him the art of adaptation and communication across diverse backgrounds.

Gordon’s journey evolved into a rewarding professional career, where he assumed the role of a community manager, facilitating the connection between management or boards and employees or clients. Over the years, he has honed his skills in harmonizing diverse groups of people, fostering unity amidst differences.

Now, he has focused his expertise on communities and diversity and inclusion. Through his company and commissions, he collaborates with community experts to advise organizations and companies on nurturing and strengthening their communities. He’s passionate about continuously expanding his knowledge and sharing insights into the intricate tapestry of community dynamics.
